New development and testing centre

New development and testing centre

The centre is taking shape technologically

The main structural works on the building have been completed. Work is now continuing in the interiors, where we are preparing the individual laboratories and workspaces and gradually installing the required measurement, development and testing technologies. Once fully equipped, the centre will bring our key development activities together under one roof – from the initial concept through to verification of the final solution.

From optical design to precise measurement

One of the centre’s core competencies will be the development of our own optical systems. Precise optical design will allow us to tailor light distribution to specific applications, improve visual comfort and, at the same time, reduce glare and unwanted light in the surrounding environment.

At the heart of the photometric laboratory will be two goniophotometers, one of them a mirror goniophotometer from LMT. These systems will enable us to precisely measure the spatial luminous intensity distribution, compare calculated performance with measured data and quickly evaluate different optical configurations.

The testing facilities will also include photobiological safety assessment, as well as testing of the mechanical, climatic and photometric properties of luminaires.

Development directly connected with our own manufacturing

Direct integration of development, prototyping, measurement and our own manufacturing will allow us to translate development results into real-world solutions more quickly and efficiently. These solutions will be designed for cities and public spaces, road and rail infrastructure, industrial facilities, sports venues, tunnels and other demanding applications.

For lighting designers, consultants and investors, the new centre will provide greater confidence that the proposed solution reflects the actual conditions of a specific project and that its declared performance is supported by precise measurement and verification. At the same time, we will be able to manage the entire process – from design and development through prototyping and testing to manufacturing and implementation.

The new centre represents another important step in our development as a European technology company specialising in professional lighting.

PROJECT

New Equipment for the Lighting Development Centre of ELEKTRO-LUMEN, s.r.o. is co-funded by the European Union.

The aim of the project is to establish modern development laboratories for public lighting luminaires, equipped for comprehensive testing of their mechanical, climatic and photometric properties in accordance with applicable standards.
